I was born in Cuba and arrived in this country at the age of 5, and grew up in the beautiful city of Miami.
At the age of sixteen, I was involved in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was forced to relearn how to do everyday tasks. Through that time, my family, therapist, and psychologist made a tremendous impact on my life. I began to see how important therapy was in my life and wanted to make that difference in the lives of others.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and my Master of Science from Barry University. After graduation, I worked as an outpatient counselor, a Supervised Visitation Specialist in Family Court, and a victim advocate for Miami-Dade County Police.
Currently, I have a private practice where I see clients and offer individual, family, and couples counseling. I am also a clinical director at a community mental health clinic where I work with and supervise an amazing team of therapists.
Continuing to grow as a therapist and improving my ability to help others is very important to me. As such, I am currently attending Regent University, where I am completing my Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling with a specialization in Life Coaching. I am also training to become a Qualified Supervisor and a Certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist. In addition to being licensed as a mental health counselor in the state of Florida, I am also licensed in Georgia and Utah; I am planning to add even more states soon.
